The Students Movers are proud to be associated with this worthy charity. Our people and trucks help The Brent Shapiro Foundation transport the necessary equipment when they are preparing for the Summer Spectacular.
On September 7th, 2013 we will be getting ready for the foundation’s Annual Summer Spectacular, the centerpiece of their fundraising season. The highly-anticipated yearly gala is an uplifting event that focuses on celebrating life to its fullest. Held at one of Beverly Hills’ most impressive and talked about mega estates, the gala includes a reception with delicious hors d’oeuvre stations and a sit-down dinner catered by Wolfgang Puck. Each year, guests anticipate riding the full-size ferris wheel in the estate’s courtyard and being front and center at the theatrical fashion show that takes place over a magnificent reflective pool.
Last year, more than $500,000 was raised from a live auction — helmed by Robert Shapiro himself, which included priceless jewelry, ringside seats to a heavyweight fight and an all inclusive African safari — and is earmarked for a pilot program at Variety’s Boys and Girls Club in Boyle Heights where “Brent’s Club” will offer educational incentives to kids who stay clean, remain in school and “do the right thing.”
The Student Movers wishes success for this coming event, and the foundation’s continuing work to fights the disease of addiction via educational initiatives and academic scholarships.
